Walk a Mile in My Shoes, Foster care awareness walk in Oklahoma city. In 2012 there were 27,000 youth who aged out of foster care. Many spent years in the system in foster care or group homes moving from . home to home. At the walk we were able to donate suitcases for children in foster care so they don't have to move their belongings in trash bags.

Before the walk we listened to a message on Mathew 25. Are you a sheep or a goat?

I had the privilege of meeting a lady who works at a ministry called "Stand in the Gap." They bring mentors along side youth who are aging out. It is exciting to see how we can work together to help youth in crisis.
Hello, sister Gail a mother of twelve, so privileged to know you through your profile on the blogger. I am also gald to stop by your blog"Aging In" and a post on it dated 28th April 2013 "Walk a Mile in My Shoes". Yes you are very honest to your title "Always room for one more". This shows your love, motherly care and affection for your own biological children as well as foster care children.I am blessed by seeing the pictures of all those children. Well I am in the Pastoral ministry for last 33 yrs in the great city of Mumbai, India a city with great contrast where richest of rich and the poorest of poor live. We reach out to the poorest of poor with the love of Christ to bring healing to the broken hearted and to give them new life, future, hope and purpose. We also encourage young people in their teens and adults too from the West to come on a short term missions trip to work with us. We would love to have some of your teenaged children to come on a short term missions trip to work with us. I would love to visit you as I am planning to come to States in the month of June/ July 2013. My email id is: dhwankhede(at)gmai(dot)com and my name is Diwakar Wankhede
